In 2004, a group of recovering individuals in Long Beach and surrounding communities formed the Freedom Festival, which is a non-profit volunteer organization, with the Board of Directors adopting the vision statement recognizing the need to "celebrate life without alcohol, drugs, or any mind-altering substance or behavior....to celebrate fun and enjoyment as a true part of clean and sober living."  The Freedom Festival will provide information about resources available regarding community outreach services for those in need of a 12 step and other successful, proven recovery programs.  The events is for the whole recovering family, with live music, food and entertainment for all.

We commend the Freedom Festival Board Member and volunteers for organizing and conduction the first annual "Freedom Festival: Discover Recovery" event to celebrate clean and sober living, which provides so direct, positive benefits to individuals, families and our great Long Beach community.
